Birthday Beaches

Throughout this COVID-19 Stay at Home Order, I have been reminiscing on the beautiful beach days and my traveling experiences. There has been a lot of opinions on when this quarantine will be called off. My only hope is before July; therefore, I can celebrate my 21st birthday outside of my home.

Last year for my 20th birthday, my older sister, my boyfriend, and some friends rented out a hotel room in Ocean City Maryland for a week getaway. We used the following link (https://www.booking.com/city/us/ocean-city.html) to look up great deals, prices, and rooms to stay in for the week. The cheaper the room, the further down the boardwalk you will be, or the more blocks away from the beach. The room we got last year was one block off the boardwalk, but far down the boardwalk from the main traffic area. This location was perfectly fine for us since we were not looking for trouble- we just wanted a relaxing beach week

At ocean city Maryland, there are plenty of activities to do around the block. For those who do not know, walking the boardwalk is a popular activity to do at night. Typically, many people tend to enjoy the beautiful beach during the day, freshen up and eat dinner, then stroll along the boardwalk to enjoy a relaxing night. On the boardwalk, there are fancy restaurants, pizza restaurants, smoothie shacks, and ice cream places. You cannot forget about shopping areas- stores, stores, and more stores! Using this following site (https://www.ocbound.com/ocean-city-md/boardwalk-attractions/) will show you the various types of activities the boardwalk holds.

A typical day during my 20th birthday trip consisted of waking up and preparing for the beach. This included packing a cooler, putting on sunscreen, changing into our bathing suits, and packing our bags (sunglasses, swimsuit cover-up, towel, speaker, etc.). Next stop was breakfast. Some days we would stop at a snack shack, or just pack a sandwich. After finally getting to the beach, we set up our area and went straight into the water. Of course, we all loved to tan so that consisted of most of our beach days, except for my boyfriend who loved to play activities or go for long walks. When our stomachs started to growl, it was time for lunch. Depending on the day, we would get a slice of pizza or pack. We usually saved the fancier places for dinner. After lunch came a photo shoot- of course I found the ideas from Pinterest! When everyone was waterlogged and sunburnt, we went back to the room to get cleaned up and headed out to dinner. Once dinner was over, the boardwalk activities started.
